Sep 13, 2018

We all know that the kitchen is where the family eats & meets and friends gather.  Gone are the days where the kitchen is solely used for preparing meals.  It has become the centerpiece of your home.  Regardless of the size of your kitchen, rooms can be transformed into a functionally fabulous space that meets many budget.

Here are a few things to consider when taking on a kitchen upgrade:

1).  Quality Cabinetry is key but doesn’t need to break the budget.  Cabinets are the landscape of the room, which is visible from every corner.  They need to suit the style of the home as well as your personal preference. But even more than style is functionality.  Make sure every cabinet has a purpose and will hold all the everyday items, plus some, to run your daily routine.

2).  Counter tops are used daily, and also cover the kitchen landscape.  The right countertop will tie the whole kitchen together.  Quartz and Granite are one of the top choices in counters due to their non-porous surface that does not absorb liquids, which can stain and harbor bacteria.  As a result, cleaning and maintaining your countertop is easy by just using a damp, non-abrasive cloth or soft sponge with mild soap or detergent.  NO abrasive cleaners are needed.  Quartz is durable however always use a cutting board and DO NOT place hot pots, pans or stoneware on counters.   Always use a trivet.

3).  Appliance choices evolve year after year.  When planning appliance selections ask these simple questions.  First how many meals a week are you cooking and for how many people?  How often do you entertain and typically for how many people? In your existing kitchen, what features are missing that would make every day kitchen life so much easier?   With this information you can build a priority list of appliance features and capacity levels that are right for you.

Always have a design plan in place that matches your Kitchen Vision.

Making sure all the components work together is what make a kitchen the household centerpiece!
